Musings of a Marfan Mom

What a Weekend!

It’s been a whirlwind weekend here! Saturday started off early with the 8th annual March for Marfan. This is a 5K run/3K walk that I started with my fraternity my junior year of college. I love that it’s still going strong long after I graduated. Not sure how much was raised for the National Marfan Foundation yet, but over 90 people registered! The Alpha Phi Omega brothers made pancakes for all the participants, and there was a light lunch afterwards.

Mark ran in memory of our friends’ babies who lost their lives in the past 18 months.

M & J were eager to pose with this year’s event’s co-chairs

Saturday evening, after visiting my in-laws and running some errands in between, I got to go to dinner with K, one of my best friends. She is moving back to Ohio next week and will be living within a half hour from me! After dinner we met up with S, another one of my best friends, who in college I set up with K to be roommates. Clearly this was a Good Life Choice on my part, so now the three of us can hang out together! Also, S’s baby girl is one of the cutest baby girls EVER. Just to let the Universe know.

Sunday was just plain fun! In addition to watching our church’s semi-annual conference on TV, we:

wrestled on Daddy’s head

went on a magic carpet ride

wore silly hats while building puzzles

loved on the cat

went for a walk with Uncle Matt, who is in town for the Indians game

and tried on Daddy’s old show choir vest.

What did YOU do this weekend?
