Musings of a Marfan Mom

Friday Favorites

Welcome to Friday Favorites! If you’re new to the blog, here’s how to play along. Every Friday I devote my post to showcasing awesome blog posts by other bloggers that I’ve read over the past week or two. Then, I invite you to do the same and link up. This is any easy way to share the love and find great new blogs.

I didn’t do a Friday Favorites last week so I’ve got a backup of awesome posts to share with you. But it’s also late and tomorrow I have to be up early for M’s first day back at school in too long (he’s had croup). Therefore, I’m just providing a very short description for each. They’re all worth a read today!

Elise at Raising Asperger’s Kids wrote the post Demeaning Those Who See a Psychiatrist. It addresses an overlooked aspect of the Juan Williams/NPR controversy and how that in term affects any of us with disabilities/special needs.

Sunday of Adventures in Extreme Parenthood is a blogger I’ve recently discovered. Her guest post The Perks of Autism reminds us to keep a sense of humor/perspective about things.

Dionna of Code Name: Mama wrote the post How to Help a Parent Undergoing Cancer Treatment. If you’ve ever wondered how to support a friend during this hard time, read it.

Dan of Single Dad Laughing wrote the very poignant Memoirs of a Bullied Kid. If you haven’t already come across it, it’s worth the time it takes to read it.

For those of you who are pregnant or thinking about becoming pregnant, be sure to check out Christie Haskell’s 5 Hospital Procedures that Ruin Your Birth. The information is extremely valuable and is backed up with citations (I love citations!).

With elections in the US coming up on Tuesday, you have to see the election video on Heather’s blog, The Spohrs are Multiplying.

Happy Halloween weekend!
