On Monday we drove down to Monterey Bay for lunch. We’d been disappointed not to have been able to take the boys to Bubba Gump’s for lunch in SanFran, but luckily there was one in Cannery Row, so they did get the chance to see it.
Fisherman’s Wharf in Monterey has a ton of restaurants who all claim to have the BEST clam chowder, and they give out free samples to try to prove it.
After lunch, we drove a little farther to get into Point Lobos park. Mark and I had never been to Point Lobos before and unfortunately, these pictures do not do it justice. I think Brasil is the only place I have been that could equal it in beauty. If you’ve ever wondered if there is a God who loves us, just go to Point Lobos and you will know the answer is YES. That’s how breathtaking this place is! With some of the problems I’ve been having with my heart I really don’t have the energy to take long hikes anymore. Mark found a short trial that wound up a cliff and watched Menininho from the top while Scott, Kevin, and I climbed down. We were right at the water and saw sea lions, a starfish bigger than my face, and lots of crabs and kelp. When I was worn out, all 4 boys went on an hour and a half hike on a different trail while I rested in the car.
Sometimes I can’t even believe I live somewhere that looks like this.
