Brittany is one of the fantastic teens that I’ve come to know. She’s a sweetheart, and I’m excited for her to guest post today!
My name is Brittany. I have Marfan syndrome. I haven’t known about having it but 5 years. It didn’t take long at all for them to discover what was wrong with me. When I found out about having Marfan I didn’t know what to feel. But now that I have met some people through online I have accepted the fact I’m different. I plan on attending conference in Baltimore next year.
On a daily basis with Marfan it can be hard to fit in. I worry way too much about what others think of me. People look at me like I’m some freak. But I come home and message my Marfs and they know how to cheer me up. I feel like I can’t relate to anyone else.
Before I got diagnosed I played basketball (I wasn’t very good lol) but when I found out about having Marfan my whole life has changed. I have to think about everything I do before I do it. I have to be extremely careful so I don’t over power myself.
I have a very strong family and support through my friends. If it wasn’t from some of my Marfs I don’t know where I would be right now. So thank you all for being here for me. Having Marfan syndrome has made me the person I am today.
Goodbye guys! 🙂
