Musings of a Marfan Mom

Family Trip

Mark’s brother Scott’s birthday is coming up, so Mark, the kids, and I took a day-trip with Mark’s parents to go visit Scott and his fiancee, Sarah.

It was fun to take a trip somewhere where one us of us (ok, Mark…he always drives) wasn’t driving!

M took this picture of his grandpa.

He took this one too. Budding photographer, perhaps?

We went to a German restaurant, HofbrÀuhaus, for Scott’s birthday lunch. All the waitresses wore costumes and there was an accordion player who played happy birthday for Scott. It was pretty cool! I’m NOT a sauerkraut fan, but they had an apple sauerkrat and that was actually good! It tasted like mulled apple cider.

It’s hard to get a 4 year old to post for a picture!

J loved the ride on the incline!

I am so glad that we live close enough to Scott and Sarah in order to be able to get together regularly! The trip didn’t stop once we got home though. No, as we pulled into our driveway, Mark realized that we’d locked ourselves out! Whoops! So, we spent the night at Grandma and Grandpa, which was all sorts of exciting for the kids, and then called a locksmith the next morning.

On tap for this week? Getting some spare keys made!!! :-p
