BlogHer 11 Workshops

I’m going through the pre-conference handout for BlogHer ’11 right now and holy cow there is a ton to do! I realized I am going to need to clone myself in order to get to all the workshops I want to go to. However, that’s clearly not possible.

So, I’m putting out a call to other attendees to help share notes. Below I’ll list the workshops I plan on attending, and in the comments I’ll put the workshops I’d like notes from. Feel free to list the workshops you’d like notes from and hopefully we can match each other up here. If you can fulfill a request, reply to that comment (as opposed to just making a new comment), because comment replies nest. If you want notes from any of the workshops I’m attending, just let me know!

I look forward to meeting a whole lot of you this coming weekend! :-)

  1. I’d love notes from Friday’s workshops Connecting With Brands from Inside Out (11:45 – 1:15 pm) and The Write Brain (1:15 – 4:00), and Saturday’s workshops Your Blog Can Make You a Local Hero (1:30 – 2:45) and Putting the Professional in Professional Blogging (1:30 – 2:45).

  2. I love notes from Bad Blogger Pitches and How to Pitch Freelance Work.

Otherwise, I’m attending the same two sessions on saturday.

I’m going to try REALLY hard to attend Perfecting Product Reviews on Friday afternoon.

I should also say that I’m attending Minding Your Own Business: Social Marketing on Saturday.

    What is that one about?

    marfmom Reply:

Ok, I can email you notes from those two workshops!

I ended up making a switch and going to the writing skills workshop instead of blogger pitches. Hopefully we can both find someone to get us the notes from blogger pitches!

  3. I tried to reply with this, but kept getting an error message. Here are the deets for the social media session. :)

Minding Your Own Business | Your Blog Can Make You a Social Media Marketer Hide

Social media, in and of itself, is not synonymous with marketing. Social media users are not, by virtue of their Twitter accounts alone, marketers. However: social media expertise is a big plus on any resume, pretty much required if you want to go into PR, communications or marketing of any kind, particularly with a consumer-focused company. If you’ve been thinking of making the leap into full-time employment as a social media marketer, this session will help you walk the marketing talk… and figure out if it’s the path for you. Elisa Camahort Page moderates the conversation with Jessica Kirkwood, Marcy Massura, and Melissa Lion. BlogHer’s own head marketer will discuss with women who have made the leap.

Oh I’d love notes on this one please :-)

  4. Hi MarfMom! We will no doubt meet at the Special Needs mini-conf (I am part of the Thinking Person’s Guide to Autism editorial team).

My particular special needs interest is dyslexia, and I’ve been struggling to get better at video blogging, so those are the two workshops I will be attending on Saturday (although I feel disloyal to my IRL friend Liz Henry for not attending the viral workshop).

I’d like notes from the KickA$$ proposals.

I’m planning on attending the Saturday 1:30-2:45 “Your Blog Can Make You a Local Hero” workshop.

    I tweet at @lizditz
